Description:
South East Sheffield Citizens Advice Bureau is the sole provider of advice and information to the communities of the South East sector of Sheffield. It provides advice on all aspects of peoples lives including benefits, debts, relationship problems, housing, employment etc in fact anything that people have problems with we will endeavour to address. The help we give can include negotiation with outside bodies on behalf of the client; this can be in form of letter writing or telephone negotiations. We do this from our main office in Mosborough and also via five outreach services spread around our huge catchment area. The outreach sessions are at Birley Health Centre, Woodhouse, Beighton Community Centre, Scowerdons Farm Community House and Hackenthorpe Resource Centre. We also offer a home visit visiting service which provides advice in the clients? own homes for anyone who has difficulty in getting into the offices; this can be either through disability or care commitments. We offer help at tribunals and at county court and help a huge number of clients with multiple debt problems. The Bureau has been in operation for over 25 years and is highly dependant on volunteer workers, providing all the relevant training for the volunteers to fulfill their jobs. It receives core funding from Sheffield City Council and has been heavily reliant on Big Lottery funding for several years.
