Style Acre provides excellent supported living and day opportunities for people with learning disabilities throughout Oxfordshire.
At Style Acre's heart is the commitment to helping people make their own choices about the lives they want to lead and the charity works in partnership with individuals and their families to achieve this. Individuals and their families choose Style Acre because it goes that extra mile in enabling people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
Style Acre provides excellent supported living for over 60 people in 26 houses. Dedicated carers enable and facilitate the lives of those they support in dynamic and varied ways.
Style Acre also supports over 120 people at two day services in Wallingford and Didcot. Both offer recreational and social opportunities, teach a wide range of skills, and support people in finding volunteer, work opportunities and community involvement. To this end, Style Acre has a charity shop in Wallingford, a café in Blewbury and a market garden in Wantage, where people can work.
Additionally, Style Acre employs a Speech and Language Therapist to manage a Communication Programme providing assessment, diagnosis and specialist intervention. Style Acre?s ?Technology for Independence? programme ensures people have access to technologies that enhance their lives and increase their independence.
With an excellent reputation within the learning disability, the community and Social Services, Style Acre is considered a forward-looking organisation, committed to developing new services.
Style Acre has responded to need in Banbury and is currently developing a new service in the town centre for people with mild to moderate learning disabilities, who often fall through the net with little local authority support but unable to find work or a social network. Style Acre will provide training, leisure activities and work/volunteer opportunities, as well supported living in four flats in the upper floors of the building.
