Charity number: 1136677
West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) provides a free, confidential and non-judgemental support service for survivors who have experienced rape, sexual abuse, sexual harassment or any form of sexual attack, whether physical, verbal or emotional. The trauma caused by sexual abuse may not surface for years after the event. We treat all clients equally, sensitively and with confidentiality, appreciating the courage required to break silence, overcome guilt, shame and threats, and share the events of the past whether they happened days or years ago.
WMRSASC offers the following services:
- Telephone helpline
- Email support
- Face to face counselling
- Independent Sexual Violence Advisory Service (ISVA)
- Children & Young Peoples ISVA Service (ChISVA) (support for ages 11 to 18 years)
- Schools Educational Programme: The SELFIE Project
- Signposting Service
- Accredited Sexual Violence Training for professionals and volunteers.
WMRSASC has been working with survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse since 1986. All of our counsellors are fully qualified and have received additional training in the specialist area of sexual violence. We also offer placements for suitable final year counselling students upon completion of our 30 hour Open College Network (OCN) accredited training course.
