When you wish upon a star (North West Office)

We are excited to announce that this year we have chosen to support When You Wish Upon a Star as our charity of the year. This year we have set our sights even higher, pledging to raise a whopping £7,000 for this wonderful cause!
 
When you Wish Upon a Star has a simple mission, one that is very close to our hearts at Apollo Home Healthcare, and that is to grant the wishes of children living with life limiting illnesses.
 
Founded by Barbara White CIOF OBE, who was so inspired by a seriously ill four-year-old with a dream to meet Mickey Mouse, that she wanted to bring smiles to the faces of many more brave and courageous children. The charity works tirelessly to grant wishes, and since 1990 they have granted over 18000 incredible Wishes across the UK, creating unforgettable memories and precious moments of pure joy and hope.
 
Some children wish to be a fairy princess or soldier for the day, meet celebrities or sporting heroes that range from the Red Arrows to Mary Berry and others Wish for a laptop to keep in contact with their friends and family whilst in hospital.
One of the most popular wishes they receive is the exciting opportunity to swim with dolphins and meet all their favourite characters in Walt Disney World, Florida.
 
As a team, we want to make a meaningful contribution through fundraising and raising awareness, and as you already know, our amazing teams are always ready to face any challenges head on, especially when it’s for such a great cause! They already have many events lined up to get our fundraising off to a great start… including an Easter pick a square challenge and an exciting balloon race!
