100k challenge in aid of mental health awareness

Event dates: 1st December 2020 – 31st December 2020

Katie Harris is raising money for Mind (The National Association For Mental Health)

My story

COVID has seen drastic rise in Mental Health cases by 8.1%. It might not look like a large percentage but that figure is huge in terms of people. That said, that figure is only people that have Seeked help, where there is a MUCH higher number of people suffering in silence. That being said, suicide ratings have risen higher than ever for men in the UK alone.

Whether it be depression, anxiety disorders, Eating disorders, PTSD, psychotic or personality disorders, drug abuse or addiction, people need help.

In December I’ve set a goal to run 100k. Whether that’s running, waking or cycling, it’s all in aid of mental health and suicide awareness. I’m posting this to get as many people as possible to share it and join in too. By sharing and participating, you’re helping. Helping people feel heard, and not alone. By becoming and spreading more awareness people that have become a victim won’t feel so isolated and singled out, and it could encourage people speak up and get help. Too many people have fallen this year.
