Our story

3,064 metres up the UK’s three highest peaks, a marathon of hiking, 1,150 miles of driving, 31 Aug, 24 hours 🤞🏽

In good news, the team comprises an IronWoman, a squatting powerhouse, and the Keynsham Cicerone. However, we’re also rocking a faulty Achilles and ACL, sparrow legs, a fella uncomfortable out of brown shoes, an anti-compass, a Green Man cider maker, and the ginger one from Harry Potter..

The worthy cause is Purple Field Productions (‘PFP’) 🎥. PFP is a small UK-registered charity working with local people and filmmakers in Africa and Asia to produce and distribute local language educational films on issues that are important to them. Every PFP film seeks to bring about positive change by engaging audiences with themes, characters and subjects that address important challenges facing themselves and their communities.

PFP's films and other media have covered a wide range of subjects, including: health, disability and rights; social prejudice and stigma; agriculture; and environment and conservation. Recent and ongoing work covers gender-based violence and safe motherhood in Sierra Leone, albinism, blindness and the effect of COVID-19 on schoolgirls in Malawi, and cerebral palsy and disability in East Africa, while a number of training programmes are ongoing.
