Ailis and Hannah's Half Marathon

During the last semester of our Physiotherapy course we were both lucky enough to volunteer for and be involved with Aberdeen Riding Club (ARC) Hippotherapy Classes. Hippotherapy is a form of physiotherapy on horseback which uses the characteristic movements, warmth and rhythm of a horse to provide carefully graded motor and sensory input. It can be used to help treat patients with neurological or other disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, head injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and cognitive disabilities.

We have seen the wonderful and positive impact this therapy can have on children and their families lives and so decided to raise money and awareness for this local charity through the Great Aberdeen Run!
