My story

I have been selected to volunteer on a two-week Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) trip to Nepal in February 2025. Cricket has long been one of my favourite hobbies and CWB is a charity which uses the sport as a platform for health education and social change. I'm really excited to be chosen to participate in the Nepal trip which looks like it should be rewarding, fun and hard work (hopefully a balanced mixture of all 3)!

I will be paying for my own flights but have a target of £950 to raise which will contribute to other costs such as transport and accommodation, and also to supply cricket equipment that is left behind for use by the projects and to pay the wages of the local coaches.

Any contribution you can make will go towards sustaining CWB's valuable work,

More info about CWB:

CWB's activities aim to:
1. Empower communities
2. Coach children and train adults
3. Link the game to messages and action on health and social issues.

CWB  work in partnership with local delivery partners: cricket associations, foundations and sport for development organisations, so their work fits alongside and supports existing sports structures, growing the game and ensuring sustainability.

It is central to their work that local coaches are empowered to lead coaching sessions and identify local health or social issues that can be discussed throughout so that all sessions provide high quality coaching and a safe place for participants to discuss issues that impact their lives. A key part of CWB's work is running ICC Certified coach education sessions for existing and new coaches.

CWB provide grant funding to employ CWB Ambassadors, who work to achieve CWB’s goals year-round. CWB volunteers support all aspects of CWB’s delivery and provide vital capacity at mass participation events to ensure that Cricket Without Boundaries’ activities are truly inclusive and “without boundaries”.

More details about CWB are available here.
