AppSense Summer Of Pain

Event date: 14th September 2013

AppSense Ltd is raising money for Walton Lea Project

My story

CHALLENGE 1:

We're here again! Last year AppSense successfully completed the Yorkshire three peaks raising over £1,000 for Walton Lea. This year a group of people have volunteered to walk the national three peaks in just 24 hours (Mick Henshaw, Alyssa Knowles, Rachel Cunliffe, Adam Prickett, Matt Gibson, Rory Sadler & Sebastian Jauernik)

We will be walking 3 of the highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1344m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales Snowdon 1085m).

CHALLENGE 2:

A team of 3 people; Lee Connell, Kev Hughes & Mick Henshaw will be taking part in Questars Adventure Race.

What is Questars Adventure Race?!

Questars Trio races have three stages.
Trail running, mountain biking and kayaking. Within each stage there are a range of checkpoints to visit. Each checkpoint has a value and the winners are those that have accumulated the most points within the time limit. The race is continuous. Transition between stages is all part of the race. Teams choose in which order to do each stage.

The distances are up to the team. So far we are looking at the below this may change slightly on the day - we are classed as novices as we have never taken part in the event before, but as this is a challenge we have aimed at completing top novice distances in Running and Masters in Mountain biking.

Kayak 4-5 km
Run 10-14 km
Bike 30-40 km

All taking place in and around Wyre forest Severn Valley!!

This is all for an amazing cause, we are supporting our chosen charity which again is The Walton Lea Project. The charity provides supported employment for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems & mobility issues.

Please dig deep into your pockets and sponsor us to complete this massive challenge!!!

Thank You!
