Our story
Bromsgrove Rugby Club players & coaches have come up with a novel challenge to raise money for the NHS Charities and to ensure that the rugby club which has been part of the local community for nearly 150 years "survives and thrives." In 1872 Jules Verne's novel “Around the World in 80 days” was first published telling the tale of Philleas Fogg’s attempt to travel around the world in 80 days, 1872 also happens to be the year that Bromsgrove Rugby Club was founded, therefore the players and coaches are going to attempt to circumnavigate the globe which is approximately 25,000 miles in 80 days either running, biking, swimming, or walking. To achieve this as a club we need to complete just over 300 miles a day. The team is made up of members from all sections of the club including senior squad players, mini and juniors, parents, right through to senior committee members all keen to do their bit for both the NHS and the club in these unprecedented times.
