Martin Papworth is raising money for Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue
My story
The volunteers of Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue are entering the Wells Moat Raft Race 2016. With a team name of "The Soggy Searchers" aboard the raft "Sceptre Whiskey" (Sceptre is our radio callsign) we aim to at least finish the race, but also to raise funds towards our £20k annual standstill costs.
ASSAR, an emergency service staffed by volunteers. On call 24/7, 365 days a year via Avon & Somerset Constabulary.
We are funded entirely by donations from the public, receiving no government funding.
