Becky’s Road to 10K – Running for Women of Worth

On 31st May, I’ll be running the Great Manchester Run 10K for a cause very close to my heart.

For the past six years, Women of Worth has supported me through some incredibly difficult times — and they continue to do so. Their work often goes unseen, but the impact they have on women’s lives in Bury is profound.

Women of Worth (WOW) is a women-only service providing a safe, supportive space for women who are vulnerable, isolated, and facing multiple complex challenges. They offer specialist, needs-led support for issues including mental and physical health, relationships, domestic abuse, housing, debt, offending, education, and employment skills.

WOW takes a person-centred, holistic, and strengths-based approach so every woman can access support in a way that works for her. Through workshops, learning programmes, and ongoing guidance, they help women rebuild confidence, develop emotional resilience, and move towards independence and personal fulfilment. Their work strengthens social inclusion and helps reduce inequality and exclusion for women in our local community.
