Elise Belcher is raising money for Global Network Of Civil Society Organisations For Disaster Reduction
Event date: 2nd October 2022
The personal blurb: For someone reason, we love to challenge ourselves with running marathons. This time it is a virtual London marathon (i.e. running our own 42km route on 2 October 2022) and for GNDR. The work of GNDR is far-reaching - not only are they connecting with communities at risk of disasters and conflict in 127 countries, but in those countries GNDR's members are advocating their governments to improve disaster risk reduction policies. Success stops people losing their lives, homes and livelihoods when disaster strikes. We're fundraising for GNDR so that they can keep this vital, world-changing work going!
The official blurb: The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) helps connect civil society organisations that work with at-risk communities with policymakers, ensuring that the voices of the most vulnerable people across the world are heard
and inform the decisions that affect them. Through strengthening capacities of organisations that are members of the network, GNDR
enables them to better meet the needs of the communities they work with and represent. With over 1400 organisations in 127 countries, GNDR is the largest network of organisations across the world working together to reduce the risk of disaster. For more information about GNDR’s work, please visit www.gndr.org.
