Benefact Group: Three Peaks Challenge
Event dates: 13th June 2024 – 14th June 2024
Benefact Group Employees are raising money for Parkinson's UK and St. Margaret's Somerset Hospice
Our story
A group of us are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge on 13th to 14th June 2024 to fundraise on behalf of two charities: Parkinson’s UK and St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset.
We are a group of enthusiastic hikers mainly consisting of employees at The Benefact Group: Paul Humphris, Emma Glasper, Laura Eccles, Matthew Pearce, Esther Jones, Coby Jones, Mark Cowdell, Layla Wiltshire and Miles Barnard.
We will first ascend Ben Nevis in Scotland, then we minibus down to Scafell Pike in North England and finally minibus down and across to Snowden in Wales (Yr Wyddfa) for the final mountain… we are aiming to complete them all within 24 hours!!
Training is going well so far thanks to Paul’s rigorous training plan, although it is fair to say that there have been some hairy moments and lessons learned, namely don’t trust Matt with directions (when he’s relying entirely on memory!) and make sure you don’t drink too much the night before in case you’re caught short at the top of Pen Y Fan. I understand this is particularly problematic if you’re male and it’s windy…
We have chosen to fundraise on behalf of two charities and monies will automatically be split equally between the two:
Parkinson’s UK lead pioneering research into causes, new treatments and help grow local support services to assist people living with Parkinson’s. Your kind donation will help us get closer to finding a cure.
St Margaret’s Hospice provides high quality and compassionate palliative care to patients with life limiting illnesses. The hospice serves the local community and all donations are gratefully received as the hospice is primarily reliant on fundraising to keep it’s doors open.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Parkinson's UK and St. Margaret's Somerset Hospice.
