Alistair Smith and Grant MacDonald are raising money for Bone Cancer Research Trust and Dravet Syndrome UK
In memory of Gavin Russell who's wish was that money was raised for research to fund a cure for Ewing Sarcoma and for Dravet Syndrome UK, Penney McKain was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome and money raised if for family support.
Remembering Gavin Russell 🧡
Gavin was only 13 years old when he was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. He sadly passed away four years ago aged just 20 years.
Following their son's death Gavin's family and friends have been huge supporters of Liberty's Legacy, a Special Fund of the Bone Cancer Research Trust 🦋
Together we continue to support raising money for vital research into Ewing sarcoma. This has included running marathons with a giant Aldi UK Kevin the Carrot, holding cake sales, filling collection tins, wreath making and supporting the Christmas Light Fundraiser🏃♂️🥕
As always we are grateful for the support shown by the Oakbank community and people of Perth.

We've also raising funds for Dravet Syndrome UK, our niece's daughter, Penney, who has been diagnosed with this life-long rare condition.
Penney was just seven months old when she experienced her first seizure. After months of uncertainty, genetic testing revealed she has Dravet syndrome, a rare and complex genetic condition that causes life threatening seizures and significant lifelong disabilities.
In her early years, Penney faced frequent seizures, countless ambulance calls and many hospital stays. But despite everything she has been through, Penney continues to amaze everyone around her.
Now 4 years old, she attends nursery four days a week and is a proud self proclaimed “chatterbox and cheeky rascal.” Her smile lights up every room she enters, and her laugh is completely infectious.
To help keep her as well as possible, Penney takes medication morning and night and requires supplies more than seven times a day to support the medical ketogenic diet that helps with her seizure control. This year, she achieved a huge milestone 111 days seizure free, her longest stretch yet.
Penney uses a wheelchair part time, as she tires easily and struggles with balance due to ataxia. She still faces many challenges, but thanks to the unwavering love and commitment of her family, friends, and community, she continues to thrive. Penney is a happy, adored, and truly wonderful little girl.
We are so grateful to her amazing uncles for creating their annual Christmas Light Display, which this year is raising money for two very worthy causes, including Dravet Syndrome UK, a charity that provides extraordinary support to families facing some of the toughest moments of their lives.
Thank you to everyone who visits, donates, and helps shine a light for Penney and children like her. Your kindness means more than you know. ✨💜
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Bone Cancer Research Trust and Dravet Syndrome UK.
