My story

Katie's SHINE project was founded by Erin Donnelly, following the untimely death of her daughter Katie who was diagnosed with EUPD. The aim of the project is
Public Education & Stigma Reduction: Campaigns work to correct misconceptions and reduce the significant stigma associated with BPD and suicide. Sharing real stories and promoting resources helps the public understand symptoms and how to offer support.

Resource Provision: Providing clear, accessible information and support channels is crucial. This includes helplines, online resources, and support groups for individuals with BPD and their families.

Crisis Planning: Encouraging individuals with BPD to create a safety plan we provide, as well as alert cards  that outlines triggers, self-help strategies, and emergency contacts can be a life-saving preventative action.

The project believes the death of any child is a devastating experience, however,  access to early intervention and education regarding EUPD/BPD it will benefit not only the individual and their families but also professionals and the individuals network of support.
