Andy Gillies is raising money for Dementia Forward
I am walking the Bracken Way Walk from the 22nd of April to the 29th of April in aid of Dementia Forward.
The walk is a long distance footpath, starting and finishing in Settle, and picks up some of the best scenery in the Yorkshire Dales - however we have modified the walk to start at Grassington and finish at Malham.
Some of the highlights of the walk include Buckden Pike, Pennine Bridleway, Malham Cove and the ascents of Whernside and Ingleborough.
Any donations will go directly to supporting those living with dementia in North Yorkshire and York. Thank you in advance!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Dementia Forward.
Thank you to all of my generous friends who have sponsored me for my walk around the most amazing parts of the Yorkshire Dales. Your sponsorship and encouragement were much appreciated and kept me going with a smile on my face.
Combining the online donations with cash collected, I have raised around £1,000!
Day 7 -
We are finished!
After a nice walk from Stainforth, passing through some iconic limestone scenery, we ended in the Lister Arms in Malham for a well earned rest.
Day 6 -
We climbed the second of the peaks today - Ingleborough. Another tough climb and incredibly windy! Then walked via Gaping Gill and Ingelborough caves and through lovely scenary ending in the Craven Heifer in Stainforth.
One more day to go!
Day 5 -
A long, tough day walking from Dent, a climb up Whernside and along to Ingleton. We coincided with the annual 3 Peaks Challenge Race so there were hundreds of people scaling the peaks in record time.
Day 4 -
Another day in the hills, walking from Hardraw in upper Wensleydale to Dent, passing the Pennines Way and amazing rail viaducts.
Still no rain!!
