Camino Portugues fundraiser March 2026

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Give as you Live page.

I am often in Sheffield city centre in the evening, possibly going out for a meal, to the theatre or a concert and am struck by how many homeless people are there. I am conscious I have a decent meal inside me, an evening of entertainment ahead and a warm dry home and bed to go to - all things which the homeless do not have.
As a regular attender at the cathedral I am aware of the good work the Archer Project does and the recent start of the Choir with No Name initiative, both of which I think are fantastic, supporting the homeless. So when the opportunity came to walk 100km of the Camino Portugues to Santiago de Compostela to raise funds for these two causes I just had to sign up. It will be a challenge walking an average of 20km (12 miles) per day for five successive days. That is what a fundraising event should be all about - a challenge, not a walk in the park.
