The 40tude Sun Chasers are raising money for 40tude curing colon cancer and Cardiac Risk in the Young
Chasing the Sun for Lee 2024
At the end of this month a small group of long-time supporters of 40tude are aiming to cycle a total of 210 miles from the East coast to the West coast of England. The whole distance must be completed between sunrise and sunset on Saturday 29th June 2024.
We will be doing this in memory of Lee Clements who died earlier this year. Lee was only 49 years old, a super fit man and an amazing person and his death from an undetected heart condition was a total shock to everyone.
In September 2023 Lee took part in 40tude’s Colmar cycle challenge, helping to raise awareness and funds to cure colon (bowel) cancer.
We will be raising money jointly for his family’s chosen heart charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and for 40tude Curing Colon Cancer. Both charities advocate early screening as the best way to keep yourself safe and healthy.
You can find out more about how to get screened at c-r-y.org.uk and 40tude.org.uk
Thank you for making a donation to these two great charities. Your support will certainly go a long way to making the miles slip by a little faster.
Thank you for checking out our page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto 40tude curing colon cancer and Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Ten Riders and a support team of two set out at sunrise 04-43 am Saturday morning from The Isle of Sheppey. After 16 hours and 49 minutes in the saddle , 340 kilometers, thankfully no blood but certainly a lot of sweat and tears, a number of unwelcome hills and a final exciting charge down Cheddar Gorge, the whole team crossed the finish line onto Western-Super-Mare Beach at 21-32 with just one minute to spare before Sun Down; exhausted but triumphant!
We did this in memory of Lee Clements a great friend and a wonderful man who passed too early.
In the process and through your generosity we have raised over £5000 for C-R-Y and 40tude curing colon cancer.
Thank you for all of your support and donations, it has made all of the peddling worthwhile.
We recommend that you get screened regularly from your mid-40s. Find out more about the options here:
