My story
Food banks shouldn’t exist but more people are relying on them than ever before.
According to the University of Sheffield’s research into local food insecurity of adults (January 2021), in Wirral, 15.84% of adults struggled to access food, and 9.4% were worried about not having enough food.
Among the 8,765 people supported by Wirral Foodbank, 2,986 were children. The numbers in 2022 of people relying on the donations are 11% up on last year’s figures.
If you would like to help out by donating food to Wirral Foodbank, items can be delivered beyween Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 1.30pm to the warehouse at Unit 14 Wirral Business Centre, Dock Road, Birkenhead, CH41 1JW.
