Claire's West Highland Way and Ben Nevis Fundraiser

Event dates:

Claire MacDonald is raising money for Lucy Faithfull Foundation

My story

So many lives are impacted by child sexual abuse, which is preventable with the right knowledge. I am raising funds for the Lucy Faithfull Foundation to increase awareness and support them in their work in a space which is still very controversial but which needs to be destigmatised in order for progress to be made.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Ben Nevis done! An experience I hope never to repeat again! 🤣. I am offically done in now - what an inhospitable, horrible mountain. It's name is usually tra nslated as Malicious/Venomous Mountain and it fully deserves that name! This concludes my current fundraiser - please donate if you can.

Day 8 (and end) of WHW done! 16.20 miles from Kinlochleven to Fort William, including climbing to Dun Deardail (Iron Age fort). A very wet day indeed.  I was glad to see the 'Man With Sore Feet' statue at the end.

Day 7 of WHW done! 10.00 miles from Kingshouse to Kinlochleven, including climbing the Devil's Staircase and Stob Mhic Mhartuin. The day started off quite wet and misty but dried up and turned out lovely for walking. I diverted off the Devil's Staircase to add in a mountain peak then tracked back and carried on the West Highland Way.

Day 6 of WHW done! 12.23 miles from Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse. A great day woth fabulous weather, walking up the drovers' road across Rannoch Moor into Glen Coe and arriving at my favourite mountain with LORT vibes - Buachaille Etive Mór.

Day 5 done! 7.73 miles from Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy. A wee 'half' day in decent weather. I reached my hotel, thankfully, before the weather turned. A good path between both destinations.
