Clothworkers' St Thomas' Eve Charity Appeal

Event date: 20th December 2022

The Clothworkers' Company is raising money for Providence Row

My story

Our St Thomas' Eve charity appeal is influenced by our historic traditions. St Thomas' Eve was once the day The Company distributed charity to Clothworkers in need. Today, all members of the Freedom and Livery are invited to support a fundraising appeal for a charity chosen by the Master.

ABOUT PROVIDENCE ROW

Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. We are situated in East London, one of the most deprived areas in the UK. We assist people in times of crisis by providing immediate advice and support, a warm meal and shower facilities. We have an outreach psychotherapy service, a needle exchange programme on site and run several training programmes to get our clients into employment.

Our aim is to help our clients lead an independent life away from homelessness and exclusion, in which they are contributing members of the community.

ABOUT YOUR DONATION

With the 'cost of living’ crisis at an all-time high, we face an unprecedented winter. We are struggling to cover the food costs to feed the homeless and vulnerable clients who come to the centre. The funds raised will go towards our Food Service programme, which offers breakfast and lunch to those who need it most. All the food provided to our clients is FREE. We currently prepare 120 meals on site each day.

We are grateful for donations of any amount - a gift of just £4.50 would cover the cost of feeding one homeless person for one day this winter.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Providence Row.
