My story

Since the creation of Celtic Capability Sailing, I have been able to watch as they grow and inspire their sailors to try something new and go outside of their comfort zones. It is from seeing the amazing work they do, and the smiles on everyone's face after a day, or even hours, of sailing and fun that has made me decide to raise money for the amazing work they do.

Over the next 9 months, I plan to walk the equivalent of the perimeter of Wales- 1,052 miles. Taking on this task in addition to my university course and part-time job will be a massive challenge. I will be so grateful for any support you can give me. Sponsoring me will not only help to give me the boost I so desperately need, it will also enable Celtic Capability Sailing to give a boost to disabled and disadvantaged people in need.

Please go coastal for Celtic with me and sponsor me now!

My updates

229 miles down- 840 to go!

Been a while since my last update. With the lockdown, I've not been doing too well at hitting my target steps each day but I'm beginning to make up for the days I've spent in bed with some much longer walks starting with an 8 mile walk around Barry today. (I must say I'm quite tired after that!) I need to just keep motivated and power through until October!

The lockdown is affecting Celtic Capability Sailing in that they are unable to sail and are unlikely to be able to this season. This means that they are having to rely even more heavily on donations from lovely people to make sure that they can continue their amazing work once they can get back out onto the water.

Every penny helps so please give generously and share this around to help Celtic to help even more people once it's safe to do so!

196 miles done- 873 to go!

It's been a while since I've given an update on how this walk is going. I'm sure everyone knows what is going on with the current lockdown for the Corona virus. This has obviously slowed my progress considerably. What also doesn't help is my forgetfulness in not wearing my pedometer which has happened a few times now that I'm out of my usual routine! But I'm still going to power on through and try to stay motivated. Once I've met my latest deadlines for uni work (that have led to me spending my days sitting at my laptop writing away) I will try my best to make the most of my one walk a day and see if I can complete a few more of these miles. Hopefully, this will all be over soon and we can get back to normal life and I can get back on track with my steps but until then, stay home and stay safe!

As always any donations and shares would be greatly appreciated, especially to keep me motivated and support this amazing charity during this tough time.

145 miles done- 924 to go.

I' still working on making up for days when I don't make my target step count but I'm carrying on going!

I've also made the mistake of forgetting to put my pedometer on some mornings (I remember later in the day) so have managed to miss some steps through that)

Don't forget to donate and share!

121 miles down, 948 to go!

I'm starting to catch up with where I'm meant to be and can keep better track of my steps with my new replacement pedometer after losing my old one.

97 miles down! Completed the equivalent of the first section of the walk- Chester to Caernarfon (93 miles)

972 miles to go!

Still a bit behind my aim for now but I will make sure to catch up with some longer walks when I can.

I've also managed to lose my pedometer for now so will be using my phone (which is less accurate in tracking steps) until I either find it or get a replacement.

Please don't forget to donate and share!
