Wayne Evans is raising money for Codebar
I have never (or even wanted to) run over 10miles, so what better way than to challenge myself mentally and physically by Running the London Landmarks Half Marathon ,while also supporting a great worthy charity.
Codebar is a charity that provides free technical workshops and events to marginalised communities. They're a great resource for:
anyone starting out with coding
career switchers who cannot afford formal education/bootcamps
professionals who would like to gain mentoring skills - some of the best engineers I've met were a Codebar Coach at some point.
Unfortunately, Codebar's funding has decreased by 60% in recent years. If this trend continues, their closure might be inevitable. Every donation counts, thank you in advance!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More reasons why Codebar is amazing:
Workshops available weekly all year long
Attendees get to choose what they want to work on
1-1 (or 1 coach - 2 students) sessions
To see more information on how you or your company can support Codebar, check out this page. Thank you!
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Codebar.

Training week 11 = 2 runs , both in Blackpool , 1 parkrun tour and 1 run along the sea front. Legs were very tired and heavy from the long run the week before so had to miss any runs at the start of the week 🤬🤬.
Think I will cut out the long runs now and work on some speed and intervals runs as don't want to feel like that again 🤕
I'll just have to give it my all and blag it on the big day🏃♂️🤞
1 week ago
Training weeks 6,7,8,9 & 10 = 6 runs (2 parkruns),1 longest run ever(for me) , 3 weeks of food poisoning and 1 stone in weight lost.
A very mixed bag of events, i must say so.
Most runs have been trying to get the legs moving again after a few weeks off. It's amazing how quickly you can lose it when you never even had it 🤣.
I'm so glad I remembered to grease the nipples for the long run sunday as the wind was so cold🥶 and in my face after the turnaround point for some challenging miles back.
Unsure how I feel about the big day now as the weeks off poorly has put a massive spanner in the works for an under 2 hour time 🤕🤬. Hopefully being placed in Wave 2 someone will drag me around. 🏃♂️🤞
Sunday 9th February
Training week 5 = 4 runs (1 parkmudrun).Been a very cold 🥶 week,but I won't let that stop me💪.
Tempo run (unexpected as squeezed it in while being dads taxi) down Southsea, sprints and a long run to finish off the week.Forgot to grease the nipples so feeling a bit sore now.
Feeling positive about the big day atm . Not sure how long it will last as ive still got a lot of training ahead of me 🏃♂️.
Sunday 2nd February
Training week 4 = 4 runs (1 parkrun) and 1 walk (as car is poorly).
Headtorch is the best purchase ever. Nice mixture this week of sprints, longrun, hills and a 'Race'(parkrun). Downside this week is i lost my first toenail🤕. A small price to pay and surely makes me lighter now. Weather dry but still very cold when the Sun goes down 🥶
Sunday 26th January
Training week 3 = 3 runs and 1 walk (as hamstring was feeling sore 🤕) Remembered the head torch for the night runs 🔦 win win. Sundays run was horrible in the wind , rain and cold, at one point it was like someone was firing ice darts at my face while the wind was moving me backwards. Weather is getting worse 🤬 but i won't let it stop me 💪.
