My story
We are raising funds to deliver: Creative Recovery, a 10-week programme of Singing for Wellbeing and Art for Wellbeing workshops for survivors of domestic abuse, in partnership with TDAS.
Domestic abuse leaves lasting emotional and physiological effects, keeping survivors in a heightened state of stress and anxiety. Through art and singing, we can help participants regulate their nervous systems, reduce trauma responses, and rebuild confidence, self-worth, and joy.
These sessions will be led by Katy Ashworth, a therapeutic play practitioner, professional singer, and former BBC children’s presenter, who has personally experienced the transformative power of creative expression in recovery from domestic abuse.
Your donations will fund:
- Weekly singing sessions to promote emotional expression, relaxation, and connection
- Weekly art sessions providing a safe space for creativity and healing
- A welcoming, familiar environment where participants can feel safe and supported
- A final exhibition to celebrate the journey
Every contribution helps us provide this life-changing programme. Let’s come together to empower survivors through creativity and community.
