Anna Harris is raising money for Cricket Without Boundaries

My story

I recently spent 4 weeks volunteering in Rwanda and Uganda with a fantastic charity called Cricket Without Boundaries who introduce children to cricket whilst delivering important health and social issues messaging.

This is where you come in - Cricket Without Boundaries needs your help!
I spent time with the Ugandan Women's Team and they're desperate for good quality cricket equipment. They just won the Women's Day Cup competing against Nepal, Namibia and Hong Kong, China. This is despite playing with old, repaired and falling apart kit. Some of the players don't even own a pair of spikes and getting equipment is very difficult as it is often too expensive and takes months to arrive from abroad.

If you are unable to donate money, or want to contribute in another way to this cause then I am collecting donations of used kit in good condition which will be taken to one of CWB's locations: Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Nepal.
I am also collecting full sets of coloured playing kit (minimum 11 shirts) and tennis balls (there are never enough!)

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Cricket Without Boundaries.

My updates

A very kind donation by a local Welsh company called Wicket2Wicket enabled members of the Ugandan Women's National Team to have high-quality brand new batting and keeping pads. The Uganda captain has to repair her batting pad straps at least once a year to keep them usable. Despite this, Uganda overcame their opposition to win the Women's Day Cup Quadrangular Series. Could your business help?

If you are thinking about donating old kit to your local association, please get in contact with me at anna.y.harris@icloud.com to arrange a collection date

This is the umpiring team in Uganda: Sharon Athoula, Patrick Mukumbi, myself and Simon Kintu

This equipment fund will help to provide umpire counters, bat gauges and ball gauges to local umpires who cannot source these items themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page - spreading the word of what CWB do is really important to entice future volunteers and raise awareness of the charity.

As an umpire, I know that having the right kit is really important for performance. To this end, I am raising money to get bat gauges, ball gauges and counters out to umpires in Rwanda and Uganda who are desperate for them and cannot access them.

Please do consider donating any old bat gauges, ball gauges or counters to your local association and I will organise a collection. Alternatively, please do consider sparing a fiver for the charity so I can help my umpiring colleagues abroad step onto the field with the right equipment.
