My story
In November 2025, I will be joining a team of volunteers out to Nepal for the charity Cricket Without Boundaries.
CWB is a charity that uses cricket to deliver health and social messages in countries around the world. It works to promote equality, health education whilst linking this all to cricket coaching sessions.
The charity has three main goals:
1)Empower Communities
2)Coach children and train adults
3)Link the game to messages and action on health and social issues.
In order to cover the costs of the project, donations of cricket equipment that we will leave in Nepal, I am looking to raise a minimum of £1000.
My name is Wendy and I’m Married to a local cricket coach and every season our marriage was interrupted by the cricket season. I decided the only way to understand cricket (and my husband ) was to learn and play cricket. That was me hooked ! Fully understanding and loving it.
As a nurse too, I was able to assist with the bruised, broken injuries, and a baker cricket teas were also a fun, socially enjoyable part of cricket.
Cricket without boundaries is a world leading charity. It is dedicated to helping, developing and educating local communities around the world. This is through the spread and growth of cricket. I love giving back to the community and volunteering for events. So this is definitely up my street. This will definitely be a big challenge for me on a personal level pushing me out of my comfort zone. A physical challenge that will push me to the limit but the most important and rewarding part for me is an opportunity to make a difference to others.

My updates
I would Just like to say i am overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity and a huge thank you to all who have donated.
Last weekend saw the Ropley Cricket club host an end of season awards breakfast for the gurls. Then there was an event in the afternoon which hosted the wounded, injured and sick veterans cricket team who played against mixed teams which included Havant and East hants mind.
We had posh teas and coffees which proceeds went to CWB and also a name the jelly cat cricket ball bear which proved very popular.
This coming weekend I will be meeting the team going out to Nepal in November. Which I'm nervous about but very excited to making new friends with a common interest of making a difference.
So today is the start of my journey to get physical fit and start planning fund raising events
