Cyrus's beach clean

Event dates: 1st February 2023 – 28th February 2023

Cheryl Randeria is raising money for Little Troopers

My story

Cyrus is going to raise money for Little Troopers again this year during Fundraise February. Cyrus has chosen to combine his fundraising with another one of his passions - looking after the oceans. He wants to do litter picking on the beach to stop the plastics entering the sea and hurting the sea animals that he loves. We are going to do three litter picks at different beaches throughout February. I'll keep you posted of our progress and please keep your fingers crossed for nice sunny days for us!

Little Troopers is a small charity that does amazing work to support the children of people who serve in the British Armed Forces. These children didn't choose to be part of a military family and while they are incredibly proud of their parents, they do face lots of challenges in their life. Some of the challenges include moving home and school every two years and learning to cope with Mum or Dad being away from home for months on end. Many people think it is ok because of mobile phones and the internet, but it isn't that easy. For Submariners they have barely any contact for months on end. They just get 60-120 word familygram.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Little Troopers.

My updates

Cyrus completed his third and final beach clean today. We went to Hastings and found lots of rubbish and pieces of old fishing gear. As you can see we had two full bags by the end.

Aunty Hayley, Kloe and Uncle Don took Cyrus to Ramsgate sands for his second beach clean this weekend. He found lots of small plastics, which would have hurt the fish if they had gone back into the sea.

Cyrus has completed his first beach clean up. We drove all the way to Pevensey Bay only to find out that it is a really clean beach! However we did find a couple of lethal looking wires and some old fishing net. We have two more trips planned.
