Dan’s 13.1 Miles for codebar @ Nottingham Racecourse

On August 30th, I’ll be taking part in the Nottingham Running Festival. I've signed up for the Half Marathon, which means I'll be tackling 4 laps of a course that winds around the iconic Nottingham Racecourse and the scenic trails of Colwick Country Park.

13.1 miles (21.1km) is a long way to go, especially in the August heat! I'm training through the summer to make sure I cross that finish line, and I’m doing it all to raise money for codebar.

What is codebar?
codebar is a non-profit organization that helps people from underrepresented groups (including women, LGBTQ+, and minority ethnicities) learn to code. They provide free workshops, mentorship, and a safe space for people to build the technical skills they need to start a career in tech.

Why I'm Running
The tech industry in Nottingham is growing, but it’s still not as diverse as it should be. codebar’s Nottingham chapter does incredible work bridging this gap. By donating, you’re helping keep these workshops 100% free for students, providing resources, and creating opportunities for people who might otherwise face barriers to entering the industry.
