My story

Help Me Harness the Power of Cricket to Change Lives

On April 27th, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon—a milestone that combines my passion for cricket and my love of physical challenges. I’ll be running to raise funds for the Lord’s Taverners, an incredible charity that uses the spirit of cricket to empower young people facing adversity.

At 40, I picked up cycling and spent the next decade tackling various cycling challenges. When I turned 50, I took up running and completed the Cambridge Half Marathon last March. Now, my sights are set on the “Big Daddy”—the London Marathon.

As a lifelong cricket enthusiast, I’ve watched England’s highs and lows on the pitch, and I’ve seen the positive influence of the sport in my own son’s life. The Lord’s Taverners bring this powerful sense of community and possibility to young people who face unique challenges. Their programs use cricket as a transformative tool to support young people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with the skills, confidence, and aspirations to overcome inequality and thrive.

With your support, we can spread the joy, resilience, and empowerment that cricket offers. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference. Please contribute if you can—and thank you for joining me on this journey to make a real impact.

Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto The Lord's Taverners.
