Team Eurovision runs Helsinki marathon

A group of us from Project Awesome are running in the Helsinki City Running Day (either a marathon, half marathon or marathon relay team).
We are adding to the challenge by dressing up in the Eurovision theme (exact dress - you can decide what we have to wear!). We are fundraising for Build with Women charity (registered charity number 1163313).
The money you donate will directly support a group of young women who are graduating high school in May 2023. The aim of Project Shree is to empower women by furthering their vocational training to become conpetitive in the international job market. Currently, young women from Nepal struggle to find well-paid work and are therefore stuck in the village from where they grew up. Build with Women charity works with a local nepali charity who will provide much-needed support. Depending on their preference for work, they will be trained as teachers, baristas and office-based skills in Kathmandu, Nepal, or a European partner.

Build with Women (formerly known as Build with Nepal) was set up by a team of young British professionals in response to the 2015 earthquake when it was vital for providing emergency shelters and supplies to residents of Kathmandu in the immediate aftermath. The main project for 2016-2020 was rebuilding of a school in rural Nepal that was badly damaged during the earthquake yet was not going to be rebuilt by the Nepalese Government. Funding from Build with Women rebuilt a new school with 190 capacity, increasing the number of students in attendance from 60% to 90%.

Since then we have redirected our focus to fund and collaborate with other charities that share our ethos to educate and empower vulnerable women from marginalised communities. We seek to explore and help remedy issues concerning gender inequality, ‘Period Inequality’ and violence against women whilst being committed to helping those living with HIV/Aids, sex workers and other sexual minorities.
