Karen Openshaw is raising money for The Sycamore Project

My story

On 31st May I will be competing in the Cheshire Triathlon event, 500m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run. I'm not just doing this for fun, or for the good of my health but to raise much needed funds for the charity I work for, The Sycamore Project (Zac's Youth Bars). Based in Bolton, every year we are working with over 1,500 young people providing a wide range of activities and support such as after school clubs, sports, 1-2-1 advice, a specific programme for young people with special needs and much more. Over and above providing activities the team work incredibly hard to have a positive impact on each young person, helping them to achieve their potential, both as individuals and as members of their communities. In the coming months we are looking to make an even bigger difference and help to enhance our young people's future prospects for education and/or employment with several new initiatives around employability and enterprise. I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me a few £s which would greatly encourage me as I prepare for and take part in this challenge but even more importantly would help us to help young people. Thanks a lot. Karen
