Flying High

My name is Suzanne and in a few weeks time, I will head to Headcorn airfield, to be pushed from a plane attached only to a man and a parachute.
I'm doing this skydive to help raise funds for Paxton Green Time Bank, which has an excellent ethos, contributing to people's mental wellbeing, combatting depression and isolation and helping to create a less judgemental society.
Members of the Time Bank, some of who have withdrawn from society, help each other out with different things, including literacy, errands, counselling, gardening and much more. Instead of payment, people receive time credits - each hour spent doing something for someone gets an hour's credit. Everyone's time is valued equally, so it doesn't matter what you have to contribute, it's all valuable.
Members also contribute to the running of the Time Bank, building skills and confidence and creating new friendships.
And this year is my 40th year on earth, so it's high time I conquered my fear of heights.
