I’m Running a Marathon to Raise £2,000 for UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement, in Honour of My Sister

I’m running a full marathon next year to raise money for UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement, a charity dedicated to supporting adults with cerebral palsy. This cause means the world to me, because it’s personal.

My sister has cerebral palsy, and growing up with her has been a journey of love, learning, and perspective. I’ve seen her strength every single day, and I’ve also seen the quiet strength of my parents and our family members who have supported her with so much care, love, and dedication.

I’m deeply grateful for the teachers and healthcare professionals who helped her along the way. But I’ve also seen how support fades as people with CP grow older — the resources disappear, the systems become harder to navigate, and families are often left on their own. That’s why UP matters. They step in where others fall short.

To every parent, sibling, carer, and family member who supports someone with cerebral palsy — this run is for you. Your strength is often unseen, but it is deeply felt.

To everyone with cerebral palsy — your resilience and strength inspire me every day. I run for you, for your journey, and for the support you deserve.

To my sister Rabia — thank you. You’ve taught me patience, courage, and what it really means to keep going, no matter what. You are my reason for every step of this journey.
