Fundraising for Dementia Forward

Thankyou for taking time to visit my fundraising page.

On the 19th of October I aim to complete the 2025 Yorkshire Marathon. I have decided to fundraise for an important cause that is close to my heart.

Research shows there are more than 944,000 people in the UK who have dementia. 1 in 11 people over the age of 65 have dementia in the UK.
The number of people with dementia is increasing because people are living longer. It is estimated that by 2030, the number of people with dementia in the UK will be more than 1 million.

Although there is no cure for dementia at the moment, an early diagnosis means its progress can be slowed down in some cases, so the person affected may be able to maintain a healthy mental function for longer.

Dementia Forward is a charity in North Yorkshire that aims to aid families and people affected by dementia. There services range from helping people;

• Understand dementia and what might happen in the future
• Choose the types of services and support that best meet their needs
• Stay connected to their local community by supporting them to take part in our range of wellbeing services
• Make informed decisions about their care, treatment, wellbeing and support needs
