Helen Wilson and friends are raising money for Overgate Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease Association
As David's MND progresses, we are experiencing more and more the phenominal support that Overgate Hospice and the West Yorkshire Branch of the MND Association offer. I have no idea how we would cope with this difficult journey, without their emotional , practical and financial support. They are helping us to squeeze any bit of good out of the days we have left together. We cannot thank them enough. Because of the very involved level of care David now needs on a daily basis, I am now unable to train for and complete a fundraising event myself this year. And so, instead, a team of our wonderful friends have risen to the challenge and are themselves staging various different fundraising actiivities over the next 3 months. We are humbled by their support.
Will you help them to help raise much needed funds for these two amazing charities as they continue to support people like me and David? Please note that any money raised will be split 50/50 between Overgate Hospice and MNDA. Of the portion raised for MNDA, we intend 50% to go to the West Yorkshire Branch, and the remainder to the national MNDA.

So the next fantastic challenge is already underway. The wonderful Gaz Pemberton, Chair of Todmorden Harriers is aiming to have completed by the end of September, 177 'Top of Leach' loops. Each loop is 4miles long and involves some serious climbing. Any friend that runs with Gaz, will also clock up a loop that will count towards the total. Completely bonkers - and brilliant!

We are currently at just short of £6200 (including gift aid). So, with 6 weeks to go, we are going to "Dare to Dream" and set a new target of £7777. Whether we hit this target or not, we can be sure that every penny raised will make a difference. Thank you so so much everyone.
Oh my goodness, people have been so so generous that we are smashing every target we set. With 6 weeks still to go, events are still happening. The lovely Mary Mahon , a solicitor and friend is currently. doing a special Will Aid Fundraiser between now and the end of September. Basically, if anyone wants to make a will, she will waive her fees so they can make a contribution to this fundraising site - a suggested amount is £77 per will in honour of Rob Burrow's famous number 7 shirt.
