Gemma is Running a Marathon

After every London Marathon, I always find myself thinking, “I would love to do that.” This year, I finally put my name in the ballot — and I was incredibly lucky to get a place!

I’ve never ran this far before, so I wanted to take on this challenge while also raising money for a cause that is very close to my heart: Leighton NICU.

Leighton NICU cared for my niece Merrin after she was born at just 27 weeks. She spent the first three months of her life there, and the support, dedication, and compassion shown to Merrin and our whole family were truly incredible. Without the care she received, Merrin wouldn’t be the healthy, happy (and crazy!) 9-year-old she is today. 
As well as Merrin, other close family and friends have been cared for at Leighton NICU. This unit has touched our family more times than we could ever have imagined.

All the money raised will go directly towards supporting the unit and the families who are currently being cared for there, helping them during what can be an incredibly difficult time. If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to me — and to the families who benefit from Leighton NICU’s amazing work.
