Helens's Big Challenge - Raising funds for an inspirational charity

For many personal reasons in 2014 I needed a new challenge and never one to do things by half, I am running the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May.

I have covered all the costs of entering myself but I also want to use this as a way of raising funds for an outstanding charity.

There are many many amazing underfunded charities out there but one I have raised funds for before and one that has really touched my heart is FIND (Families in Need - Ipswich). It is the most amazing charity run by one of the most inspirational people you will ever meet.

What they do isn't glamorous or nice, it doesn't come with the sort of pictures that make us all reach for our mobiles on Red Nose Day, but sadly it is essential. Maureen and her team provide the most basic care (food, bedding, emergency accommodation, support) for people in Ipswich and the surrounding areas who have literally nothing. Babies who have no milk or nappies, terminally ill people who can't feed their children, people in accommodation but with nothing. In all honesty it doesn't feel like it should be necessary - In Africa maybe but not in Ipswich - not in 2014 - but it is.

The great thing with this charity is a little goes a long way. £10, £20 or £50 could make a massive difference to families in genuine need.

Any support you can give me and this charity would be massively appreciated and help with the hours of training runs and at least 5 hours of running on the day (did someone say Scotland was hilly !!)
