Event date: 16th June 2024
Liz Pimperton is raising money for Vision of Adventure
My name is Liz, I am 57 years old, and registered severe site in paired, which means I can see bugger all.
On 16th of June I will be competing in the lakes Man half iron man Aqua bike competition, guided by Serum on the Swim leg, and Keith on the bike tandem ride, who are both guides with Vision of Adventure.
I used to compete for Swimming when I was younger, but lost all my confidence when I went blind, Vision of Adventure have helped and enabled me to build back my confidence and to compete and competitions.
I was introduced to Vision of Adventure by a friend I was booked on courses before Covid but of course they were cancelled, after Covid I went on two day courses. One was a swimming course with a bungee wire, and one cycling tandem riding with Jill both courses were amazing, and I learnt so much and was totally hooked.
During the winter months, I have kept up my fitness and motivation via the zoom cycling sessions one-to-one Train, a motivation fromjill
I am looking for wood to the event, and will be fuelled by cake of course, Vision of Adventure have helped me so much, so I would like to help raise funds for this amazing charity.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Vision of Adventure.

I am Alex Man whoop, completed the challenge in five hours 34 minutes. The swim was 50 minutes, we swam a bit more than the distance as Serum went a bit wider as people kept swimming over my bungee wire. We had quite a distance from the Swim and transition area, which we walked as it was very rocky on the foot, and then in transition tent was 18 minutes because all my bits and bobs were in a bag and couldn’t find anything and I was a bit cold after this swim so took a bit longer than expected. The bike ride was fab And everything was fab in the end thank you Gemma awesome Guide Syam Swim and Keith Tandem cycling and my other support crew fans, Andrew, and, and the two dogs Dougie and Eve, what an amazing event and day bit tired now
