Hemel SDA Teens Mission Trip to South Africa

South Africa is proudly known as the rainbow nation. It is a country rich in history and culture. South Africa is well known for its beauty but there are many people who remain scarred after years of Apartheid. Even though the Apartheid era ended many years ago, people still continue to face the challenges of high unemployment, poverty, drugs and abuse.

These people are in desperate need of restoration. They need to know that people care. As part of the Hemel SDA Teens group, I have taken up the challenge to go and spread God's love and to provide restoration that can only come through Jesus.

We will be visiting under-privileged areas in Cape Town undertaking various projects in the communities. We will be involved in:

1. Preparing, packaging and handing out Christmas shoe boxes to the township children on Christmas Day

2. Preparing, packaging and handing out food hampers to the homeless and to needy families

3. Maintenance and cleaning of orphanages and old people's homes

4. Teaching children new skills such as computer literacy, reading, arts and crafts

5. Assisting in community clean-up projects

This trip will also help us British young people experience a new culture and allow us to grow in our relationships with each other, God and those we help. Your contribution will make a difference, not only to those we will be helping, but to the young people who will be participating. The Hemel SDA teen group is part of the Hemel Hempstead SDA church which falls under the Religious Charity Organisation the South England Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.
