My story
From July 17th to July 24th this year, I’ll be taking on the challenge of cycling 909km from Mizen to Malin along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way as part of the Birmingham Irish Cycle Appeal (BICA). It’s a route as beautiful as it is brutal, and although I’m fully committed, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I’ve been training hard since January — cold mornings, long weekends in the saddle, and plenty of moments wondering what I’ve signed myself up for. But my love for the outdoors, and my desire to experience the raw, authentic Ireland in the most immersive way possible, keeps pushing me forward.
What makes this journey even more meaningful is the support surrounding it. My wife Katherine and our daughters, Gabriella and Beau, have been incredible — encouraging me through every early start and every aching muscle. And I’m sharing this adventure with 60+ other riders who have become genuine friends, all united by the same purpose: raising money for charities that make a real difference. If you’re able to sponsor me, no matter the amount, it will fuel both the ride and the impact we’re working towards.
