Isobel Scales Three of Yorkshire's Peaks Then Goes to India

I came, I saw and I conquered Yorkshire's 3 Peaks!! Steep inclines, rock scrambling, steep declines, constant rain showers, gale forces and so much mist I couldn't see for more than a couple hundred feet. Big thank you to my dad who I roped into coming with me!

So very grateful to everyone who has donated so far! And to those who haven't, there's still time! Any little helps!

From September I will be volunteering with grassroots organisation, Deep Griha Society in the Pune area of India. Through the co-ordination of a number of projects that encompass education, healthcare, women's empowerment and sustainability, DGS is working to raise awareness of important issues and alleviate poverty within the slums.

DGS is a partner organisation of Development in Action, a charity focused on promoting global citizenship by improving understanding and encouraging engagement in development issues amongst young people within the UK and whilst in India I will also be completing my own project that can be used as a resource that can inform and inspire others to get involved with global issues, even on a local level.

As part of my placement, I am required to raise £1600 that will go directly to Development in Action, covering the costs of training, orientation, continued in-country support and allows DGS to accommodate volunteers who are sufficiently trained to help continue the success of their local organisation.

This is a big target but I'm be immensely grateful for any donation you might be able to spare!
