Skydiving For Bliss

As most of you know our beautiful first born was 7 weeks premature. He was brought into the world in a mad rush via emergency Caesarean section at 33 weeks as my placenta had stopped working and little Dylan was struggling. Born at a tiny 3lb 12oz means he spent the first few weeks of life in hospital, attached to tubes and wires and beeping machines. We were transferred to Cambridge when he was 3 days old with suspected NEC and were told to prepare for the worst! Lucky for us we had made an incredibly strong little boy who would fight through everything that was thrown at him! He was a fighter and we couldn't be more proud of him. Bliss are a charity that help premature and sick babies. They are an absolutely amazing charity that offer the support and information a parent needs at such a difficult time... this is why I want to give back to them as much as I can and help them continue to help parents in one of the worst situations you could find yourself in... watching your child struggle to breathe and on a ventilator, sedated on morphine, watching them in an incubator not being able to hold and kiss your baby like you should be able to, watch them have a chest drain put in due to pneumothorax, watch them be fed through a tube only taking 0.6ml every few hours to start with as their infected bowel couldn't handle much more than that... this is just what we went through with Dylan. Other parents and babies go through much worse than we did and they need all the support they can get.
