Jo and Katy are raising money for Up - The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement
Jo and Katy will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Up - The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement
Cerebral Palsy affects 130,000 adults in the UK, a similar amount to Multiple Sclerosis. When Cerebral Palsy first presents in childhood there is a good level of care and support for these patients, but when that person turns 18 the support structure completely disappears - even though Cerebral Palsy is a lifelong condition.
My friend, Emma is an adult living with Cerebral Palsy. She was so frustrated by the lack of support for her as an adult (when her mobility saw a significant decline in her late 30’s) that she started up her own charity in 2018. She joined forces with her physiotherapist to start the charity, to campaign for better support and services and to give the adult Cerebral Palsy community a voice. They are doing a terrific job, but like all charities, especially the smaller ones they need us to support them, to be able to support others.
Any donation however big or small is very much appreciated xx
