Josh ‘Gives A Hoot’ & is running the London Marathon!

Running London Marathon for The Barn Owl Trust.

Nature is something I treasure dearly and birds in particular have a special place in my heart. I’ve been fascinated by them since I was a boy and it is a fascination that continues to this day and beyond.

When I received the amazing news of being able to run in the 2023 London Marathon, I instantly knew that a nature related organisation would be my focus for my fundraising efforts.
I was then presented with a very difficult predicament! What/who to begin fundraising for?
There were so many to choose from, as sadly an alarming quantity of our most beloved species are in need of considerable help and support.

The majesty and grace of Barn Owls is something that I am lucky enough to witness on a regular basis as I have a resident pair that occupy a custom built box on my property and many others that have taken up residence in boxes that I have built and installed across the county.
Yet most people will only get a glancing glimpse of this ghostly bird.

The Barn Owl Trust are a small team of professional staff and volunteers, a grass-roots, non-profit organisation, based on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon and their dedication and devotion to this beautiful bird is exemplary.

The Barn Owl is a species that is prone to rapid declines and population crashes, so it is imperative that we do all we can to conserve this majestic creature and it’s habitat.

Running the London Marathon for Barn Owls and The Barn Owl Trust is a great honour and I hope you’ll take the time to support me and the many others who are going the extra mile for nature.
