Getting Muddy for the Puppies!

Charlotte Herdman is raising money for Pawprints Dog Rescue

My story

Thanks for visiting our page.

On 8th November, me and Alex are going to be participating in The Wolf Run, a 10k assault course through Woods, Obsticles, Lakes and Fields at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire. Anyone who knows us knows that we're dog mad, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to help raise some money for PawPrints Dog Rescue in Rugby, who rescue stray dogs who have been taken to the local pound and face euthanasia. Dogs who are taken to the local council pound have just 7 days to either be reunited with their owner, or find another home before they become legal property of the council. Due to the recession and local pounds being inundated with dogs, many face being destroyed.

PawPrints began by offering advice on a Facebook group, and quickly grew into more when they realised that over half of the dogs taken to a pound, never walk out again. Many of these are young, happy, well behaved dogs who have simply lost their way home, escaped or have been abandoned by their owners for being too old or too expensive.

Over 8000 dogs were killed last year because there was no room for them, many family pets who simply weren't microchipped or had no tag.

To date, they have rehomed hundreds of dogs, and fund all their own treatments which include; neutering, vaccinating, post-operative care, treatment and most importantly a social environment.

We have, foolishly, signed ourselves up for the Winter Wolf Run which means that not only will we be wading through mud and tackling obstacles, but we'll be doing it in one of the coldest months of the year. So while we're digging ourselves out of the mud, dig deep so that dogs across Coventry and Rugby can continue being given a second chance at life.

Stay muddy!

Char & Alex
