Heather Patching is raising money for Rainbow Migration
My story
Hi All!
As some of you may know, myself and Liv will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on the 26th Jan 2023. The trek will take us 7 days to complete, which we will summit on day 5, at a height of 5895 meters. Exciting and scary!
Liv and I have decided to fundraise for two charities, both of which mean a lot to us.
I will be fundraising for Rainbow Migration, a charity who support LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system.
Recently the media has been inundated with new’s regarding ever-changing laws, which directly affect the LGBTQI+ community, in countries with little or no legal rights or representation.
The Rainbow Migration provide practical and emotional support for LGBTQI+ people, by giving free and confidential legal information and advice to LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum or making an immigration application to live with their partners in the UK.
As a same sex couple, and for so many reasons that I struggle to express in writing, this charity felt incredibly close to our hearts. A way to provide help and support to LGBTQI+ people, who feel unsafe or isolated in the place they call home.
