RUNNING 1000KM

Event dates: 1st January 2018 – 31st December 2018

Kim King is raising money for Step Ahead Aberdeen (Scotland)

My story

This year I have challenged myself to run 1000km.
I will do this over a period of 12 months (which started in January 2018)
To get to my target I will take part in various events throughout the year. I have already completed my first one which was a 10K on Newburgh Beach in March.
The weekend of 21/22 April I did the Devil of Deeside at Balmoral. I took part in all the adult races over the weekend, which meant running the 5K & 10K on Saturday & doing the Duathlon & 15 Mile trail run on the Sunday. I covered a distance of 40 miles over the 2 days, 10 miles on the bike and 30 running.

I've also signed up for my first Marathon which I will be doing on my birthday in October.

By now, I'm sure you are wondering why on earth I would be doing this, well it's all to raise money and awareness of a charity in Aberdeen called Step Ahead.

They are a community based exercise after stroke group, ran by fully qualified physiotherapists with a specialist exercise after stoke instructor qualification.

This charity has helped my dad get back on his feet and regain his independence after suffering from a stroke in 2015.

Every step my dad has taken in the last 2 and a half years has taken a great deal of effort, and he has been greatly helped by the support he has received from the physiotherapists at Step Ahead.

I intend to leave this page open for the whole year, so if you find yourself with a little bit of spare cash, no matter how little, I would greatly appreciate your donation. It will make my blood, sweat and tears over the remainder of the year worth it.

I'll post updates of my upcoming events, just so you can follow my progress, But I've also listed the ones I currently have planned below.
