Kim Boeje walks 1000 miles for charity

Event date: 15th December 2013

Kim Boeje is raising money for Living with Equal Opportunities Ltd

My story

By 15th of December I will have walked 1000 miles in 90 days. The 5 stone weight loss ( as shown in the before and after photo) is a huge plus but I would love to raise some money for a small charity called the Play Association Hammersmith and Fulham which is close to my heart. After visiting their disabled children's centre in September I am keen to help them continue the good work that they do providing play for children throughout West London. It gives the children enjoyment and a place to develop their skills for future life, and for their parents and carers, it allows much needed respite from their tough day-to-day life.

This is how it all began:
I started walking in late June to firstly lose weight. I walked on average 15 miles per day and got hooked. In the summer I took photos of the children in the Play Association Hammersmith and Fulham's disability centre and on the train journey home I decided that at some point I would try to do something to raise funds for them. On 16th September I started to walk a target of 1000 miles by Sunday 15th December. I will finish it and it will have taken me exactly 90 days. I've now lost almost 5 stone, gone down 4 dress sizes and have inspired lots of local people to not only join me walking but to start their own exercise goals.

I would really appreciate your support to make this last push worthwhile not just for my own sense of achievement but to bring happiness to many needy children.
