Kirsty For Good

I started raising money for charity, when I was just 9 years old, after I went to Lapland with the charity, When you wish upon a Star. The charity sent me to Lapland due to how poorly I was and it was my dream to go.

Whilst I was there I made friends with a young girl who had cancer, we said we would be friends for life. A few days after Christmas my mum received a call to tell me that the young girl had passed away. Mum explained to me if the money was not raised that year she would not have gone and neither of us would have had the wish granted. Since then it has inspired me to raise as much money as I can, to let other children have their wishes granted.

So far I have raised £100k for When you wish upon a Star: I have had two black and white balls, and I have another on 17th October 2012, I have been selling my book, I have held lots of different events, and have had many donations from the public. I am now on a mission to raise £250k for the charity, they are a very small charity who depend on donations from the public, and are not funded by the Government. I am intending to raise this money by teaming up with Give as you Live, as well as continuing to run lots more events throughout the year.
